What You Need to Know

Which areas do you cover?

I'm based right in the centre of the East Midlands, just outside of Loughborough. I cover hospital planned births in Leicester and Nottingham along with the freestanding St Mary's birth centre. For home births (if booked with the UHL Homebirth Team) and post natal support a general rule of thumb is within 45 minutes drive of Loughborough. 

If you would prefer antenatal sessions to be online geography doesn't matter! 

Realistically, if you're a little unsure, just drop me a message and we can talk it through. 

Why have a doula?

Ok, so there's a lot of benefits and they will always be unique for each family... but here's some evidence based reasons.

  • Reduced risk of Cesarean birth * ∆

  • Reduced need for painkillers and epidural during birth *∆

  • Reduced risk of induction of labour * ∆

  • Shorter labour ∆

  • Increased parental satisfaction with the birth experience ∆

  • Increased likelihood of successfully establishing breastfeeding and continuing to breastfeed at 6 weeks *

Babies are expensive! Can we pay in instalments?

A growing family often requires a lot of financial planning - whatever your circumstances. I totally get it! 

For my Birth doula and The full 10-Monther packages, payment plans are available to spread the cost from booking until the 38th week (when I go 'on call').

A retainer fee will be needed to secure the booking and a payment plan outlined within the written agreement. 

Doula UK also has an 'Access Fund' we can discuss and check your eligibility for and I also accept gift vouchers which make great baby shower/new arrival presents! Just spread the word that you've booked me as your doula and friends/family/colleagues can contact me to purchase.
